As I reflect on this journey — the late nights, the hard-earned lessons, and the celebrations I’ve had the honor to be part of — one truth rises above the rest: God has been faithful every step of the way.
Though I’ve never taken the time to write out the full story behind Kaitie Gill Weddings, I feel deeply compelled to share it now — not just as a look back, but as a quiet encouragement to those who may be building something of their own.
Humble Beginnings & Big Dreams
Ryan and I met in high school, and by November 2014, we were married — young, hopeful, and ready for whatever God had in store. A year later, we began exploring the idea of moving. Tennessee felt like the natural next step. With a degree in Mass Communications and a dream of working for HGTV in Knoxville, I started applying to jobs. Nothing quite landed — until I found The Pink Bride.
From my very first meeting with Fred and Donna Jacob, I felt at home. I joined their team in 2016, and though my title changed often, my passion only grew. From magazine edits to event logistics and creative design, I experienced every angle of the wedding industry. I didn’t realize it then, but God was preparing me for something bigger.

From Tennessee to Arkansas — and a New VisionDreams
While I loved Tennessee, my heart longed for home. Ryan and I returned to Arkansas in 2017. I continued working remotely with The Pink Bride while also planting the earliest seeds of my own business — Sailboat Weddings.
The name was a tribute to my grandfather, a man who loved Jesus, sailboats, and people with his whole heart. My prayer from the beginning was simple: “Let this business bring You glory.” My slogan? Smooth sailing from “yes” to “I do.”
(I do miss the Mexican restaurant that was only 5 minutes from our rent house in Tennessee though!)

The First Wedding — and a Clear Calling
Under the mentorship of Meredith Corning, I stepped into my first wedding as lead planner in October 2017. It was equal parts magical and exhausting. The night ended with blisters and a mop in hand — but I went home knowing: this was it.
I launched Sailboat Weddings publicly soon after, and just weeks later, learned I was pregnant with Lincoln. It only fueled my desire to create something that allowed me to be both a present mother and a faithful steward of my gifts.
Growing a Business with Grit and Grace
Over the next few years, I poured everything into growing the business — attending wedding shows, investing in branding, building a website (yes, the original Wix version makes me cringe too!). It was a family affair in the best way, with my mom by my side at my very first expo.
By 2019, the nudge to go full-time became undeniable. I was scared. But I prayed, asking God to confirm it. That week, I booked two weddings. The next week, two more. Confirmation after confirmation — His hand was in this.

Full-Time & Fully Faithful
I transitioned to full-time planning in 2020. Despite the uncertainty of that year, it became the year I let go of every safety net — and never looked back. In the years that followed, I built a team, mentored up-and-coming planners (many of whom are thriving today), and collaborated with creative partners who’ve become dear friends.

Rebranding with Purpose
In 2021, it was time for a change. While Sailboat Weddings had heart, I knew my business needed a name that reflected where we were headed — not just where we’d been. Kaitie Gill Weddings became the new name, and with it came a renewed sense of clarity and purpose.
In 2023, I invested in a full brand identity with Alex Collier Design. With new visuals, a refined aesthetic, and an unwavering commitment to thoughtful planning, the business stepped confidently into a new season.

Year Eight — And Still Just the Beginning
As of 2025, I’ve had the privilege of leading over 90 weddings. I’ve cried, learned, grown, and been stretched. I’ve also seen the Lord’s faithfulness time and time again.
This business has always been about more than pretty details — it’s about serving couples with care, honoring their stories, and creating celebrations that reflect something deeper than just one day.
If you’ve been here since the beginning — or even if you’re just joining the journey — thank you. Your support means more than words can say.
Here’s to the next chapter.
